When you think of surfing and the Atlantic, you usually think of the Basque Country. But as surf fans know, Brittany is home to some legendary spots. Pointe de la Torche, in Finistère, is one of them. This world-famous spot attracts surfers from all over the world. It was here that the first surf clubs in Brittany were established, and the town was awarded the ‘Ville de Surf’ label in 2015. The rocky Pointe de la Torche separates the Baie d’Audierne to the north from the Baie de Pors Carn to the south. It offers surfing conditions that few other spots in Brittany can match. Its waves are often considered ideal for beginners.
